As commercial and residential cleaners in the Twin Cities, we get asked about the type of cleaning products to use on a fairly regular basis. While we do use some commercial products, most of the things you clean on a regular basis don’t warrant them. In fact, you can clean your whole home with just a few eco friendly products that you probably have in your home right now.
Baking Soda – Not only is baking soda readily available, but it is also inexpensive and it’s non-toxic so it’s safe to use around kids and pets. Vinegar – Like baking soda, vinegar is a safe, cheap and non toxic product to use to clean just about anything in your home. Start by running a mixture of two parts water to one part vinegar (apple cider vinegar or distilled white vinegar) through the machine. Fill the coffee pot with the mixture and pour into the water reservoir and turn on like you would to make coffee. Once the pot is filled with the vinegar mixture, don’t pour it down the drain yet, there’s plenty of uses for the warm mixture. Use the vinegar to clean your windows, mirrors and counter tops. Wipe down the oven, stovetop and cabinets too. However, there are some things you shouldn’t clean with vinegar – click here to see.
